A New Chapter for Outdoor Living
The homeowners in Liberty Township reached out to The Custom Deck Guys with a clear vision: a low-maintenance, durable deck that would stand the test of time. Their old deck had deteriorated, no longer providing the safety and comfort they needed. The goal was to replace it with a new outdoor space using premium materials that would require minimal upkeep.
Tackling the Challenges
The project began with the removal of the old deck. Upon preparing the site, we found that the footers were in poor condition. To ensure a stable foundation, we dug new footers and built a 22ft x 16.5ft deck frame, reinforced with treated lumber. We also corrected the joist spacing, which was too wide on the original deck, by installing properly spaced treated lumber joists to improve the structure’s stability.
A key request from the homeowners was a picture frame border around the deck’s perimeter. This required precise cutting and installation of the Trex Enhance decking to create a defined edge.
The Result
The completed deck is both beautiful and durable. The Trex Enhance decking provides a long-lasting, low-maintenance surface, while the Trex Enhance fascia gives the deck a polished look. We also rebuilt the flower boxes and benches using Trex composite material, maintaining their original design with the added benefits of composite durability.
With two staircases and a sturdy frame, the deck is both practical and visually appealing. The homeowners now have an outdoor living space built for the long haul, requiring minimal maintenance and offering years of enjoyment.
